wedding day

Bustle Bride: Mollie May

an auburn love story: will and mollie

Their love story began one evening at a local bar in their college town. Will and his friends were enjoying a boys' night out, while Mollie was out with her girlfriends. From a platform above the dance floor, Will noticed her, and their eyes met in a moment of mutual intrigue. Despite several exchanged glances, neither made a move until they found themselves walking in the same direction after leaving the bar.

“When we all stopped at the crosswalk at Toomer’s Corner, Will decided to make a move. He said ‘hey’ and started asking me questions, and we walked down the street to the pizza place where he and his friends were going. We talked for about 5 more minutes until his friends yelled “get her number already!”

knowing he's the one

Mollie wasn't quick to say yes when Will asked her to be his girlfriend—three times, in fact, before she finally agreed. Her hesitation speaks to her desire to wait for what feels right.

“He completes the other half of me, takes care of me, and loves me unlike I had ever felt before. That’s how I knew he was the one.”
— Mollie May

What ultimately won her over was their uncanny ability to see eye-to-eye on everything that mattered: from future plans of marriage and family to shared values and beliefs. Will’s unwavering patience and deep love showed her that he was the one she had been waiting for.

“We are always thinking the same thing, he matches my love and my crazy. He is everything and more.”
— Mollie May

the gown

Mollie's wedding gown was a genuine reflection of her personality—sleek and symmetrical with a flair for the dramatics–like we said, her genuine personality ;)

What made Mollie’s gown truly special was her decision to incorporate elements from her mother’s gown.

“My mom had a long sleeve, cathedral train, impeccably embellished European/Princess Diana type dress.”
— Mollie May

The buttons from her mother's gown now adorned the back of her own, and the embellished train, so cherished by her mother, now felt perfectly at home on Mollie’s gown. Through this marriage of two distinctly different love stories, Mollie and her Mother can see hints of each love story in one timeless gown.

“My seamstress was Katherine Ryles of Mountain Brook, I have to give it all to her for making my true dreams come to life.”
— Mollie May

wedding bells

Their wedding day was filled with cherished moments that Mollie holds dear. One of the highlights was the intimate dinner they shared after the ceremony—a quiet moment to reflect and savor their first meal together as husband and wife. The playful sunset photos taken on the beach captured their joy and love in a way that words couldn't describe.

Another unforgettable memory was the surprise choreographed dance Mollie and her father performed for their first dance. What started as a slow dance morphed into a lively, choreographed routine that delighted their guests and added to the joyous atmosphere.

And then there was their grand exit—a boat ride under the stars as they bid farewell to their loved ones. It was a magical end to a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Mollie and Will’s wedding day wasn't just a celebration of their love; it was a reflection of who they were as a couple, surrounded by the people who meant the most to them. It marked the beginning of their journey together as husband and wife—a day they will cherish forever.

Bustle Bride: April Miller Atchley

We're so excited to kick off the new year, and to celebrate 2018 we have the sweetest new Bustle Bride! April met her now husband during their freshman year at Samford University. John Kelly says it was then that his crush on April started, but it wasn't until a year later when he asked her on a date, and the rest is history. April and John Kelly said, "I do," on a beautiful September day in North Carolina.

April has the most genuine heart and the sweetest spirit to match, and we so loved helping her find her dream dress! She looked absolutely stunning on her special day in her Anne Barge tulle ballgown with a beaded lace bodice. Also, her lovely bridesmaids wore the champagne Eliza & Ethan multi-wrap gowns that we carry in store!

It’s hard to narrow it down to one thing, the whole day felt like an absolute dream. Aside from marrying my best friend, the dance floor is high on the list and maybe only second to having everyone we love and treasure all in one room celebrating with us. At one point we took a moment to look around at all the faces around us and let it sink in. Joy does not even begin to describe how we felt!

Bustle Bride: Madison Pearson Craft

To wrap up the month of April, we're welcoming Madison Pearson Craft to the Bustle bride team. Madison and her hubby Ben tied the knot on a beautiful Saturday in December.

During Madison's appointment, we were able to create a complete bridal look for her big day. She chose a beautiful a-line gown by Ellis that has an elegant portrait style neckline as well as full chiffon skirt. She paired her gown with a beaded lace belt and topped of the look with one of our ivory raw edge floor-length veils.

Madison was such a joy to have in our store. Her heart is as big as her gorgeous smile, and she has the most genuine personality. We were so thankful to be able to aid her with finding the perfect gown. She was an absolute dream on her wedding day, and we just can't get enough of these FAB photos of her and her hubby. They are so sweet together, and you can definitely see the love in these precious moments!

Bustle Bride: Megan Lamb Carey

To kick off this week, we're excited to announce that Megan Lamb Carey is our newest Bustle feature! Megan and her now husband Matthew began their "happily every after" on a beautiful January day. Their ceremony was at the beautiful St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Birmingham.

Megan looked like an absolute dream when she said, "I do." When this sweet bride came into our store she fell in love with a gorgeous Nicole Miller gown. She took some time to sleep on it, and a few days later she realized she couldn't live without the lace beauty, so she came back and purchased the gown she would soon wear on her special day. The lace gown fit her personality perfectly, and she wore the gown so well. It was definitely a match made in bridal heaven!

Megan has such a genuine personality, and we loved helping her find the gown of her dreams. We're so thankful she chose to shop at Bustle! She looked nothing short of gorgeous on her big day. We can't get enough of her photos from her wedding day! The letter exchange between her and Matthew is such a special moment, and definitely one of our favorite photos!

"I think my favorite part was the reception. The nerves were gone, we were married and ready to celebrate. The food was delicious and the band was amazing. We had such a great time dancing with all our friends and family. "

Our first Bustle bride for February is Meredith Anderson Tolleson. Meredith and her groom Ty said ,"I do" on a perfect October Saturday. She was an absolute dream in her Paloma Blanca lace gown.

When Meredith came to our store she had a vision for what elements she wanted for her gown. The first gown she tried on was this gorgeous Paloma Blanca gown, and it was a match made in bridal heaven.

It was such a joy to help Meredith find the gown of her dreams. She wore the gown so beautifully on her special day, and we're so glad her hubby loved it too! Those first look photos are the sweetest! Her bridal shots are total swoon-worthy!
